    Cephalocereus senilis

    Cephalocereus senilis are columnar cacti known for growing up to fifty feet tall in the wild. White fuzz blankets their stems, giving the plant the fitting common name of Old Man Cactus. This sagely specimen will not produce flowers until it is at least 15 years old, so cactus flower fans will have to be patient. It is native to the states of Hidalgo and Veracruz in Mexico.

    Stenocereus beneckei

    Stenocereus beneckei are hardy, shrub-like cacti native to central Mexico, where they grow on sunny slopes and cliffs. Known for their striking gray-green coloration and sharp brown spines, as well as their obtuse ribs, these cacti act as a strong contrast to other cacti in a collection. Stunning black-green funnelform flowers blossom for one night only in late spring or early summer. Don’t miss it!

    The lush, lime-green leaves of Haworthia mirabilis are vaguely translucent, giving this plant a particularly alien look. A South Africa native, this plant is a rare example of a shade-loving succulent. Its rosette structure occasionally produces offshoots, which can be separated from the mother plant and potted again.

    Opuntia cochenillifera ‘Sunburst’ variegated

    Opuntia cochenillifera is a native to Mexico, but it is widely cultivated across the Americas and Asia. The ‘Sunburst,’ form does not occur naturally in the wild and was cultivated in a nursery. Known for its mottled, camouflage look, it is highly sought by collectors. Give it plenty of sunlight so it retains its vibrant variegation.
